SWITCH (@switchsb_) and ZZZ collaborate to drop a brand new Project, “Try Harder”, directed by Forbez. This track is a single off of Switch’s LP Sonic Therapy. This is the perfect what people need to hear. When all else fails and you do not know what to do..you need to try harder and adjust to the situation. Switch says, “I Try Harder…that’s what I tell myself when you ask why bother?.. See you don’t even want to, and me I GOTZTA, Try harder.” He is saying he has no other choice. How do people operate and evolve without working harder on themselves or their craft? This track gets your thoughts turning in the right direction. This track features ZZZ w/ the smooth flow to compliment the direct flow by Switch— creating a dope collaboration and strong track. Bay Area, California emcee J.Lately presents the Erica Eng-directed music video for "Run", the new single from Tuesday, his forthcoming album produced entirely by Space Cadet. The new album will also feature appearances from The Grouch (stream "Clean"), Blimes and Khyenci. Space Cadet is also the beatsmith behind half of Lately's 2017 album Be F*cking Happy (watch the "Papayas & Blunt Smoke" music video). Last year J.Lately released the "Fun's Up" single (Soundcloud), "Free" (Soundcloud) and "By My Lonely" (listen) featuring fellow Bay Area emcee Locksmith. Hailing from Sebastopol, and having split time between Oakland and Southern California, Lately has toured with Andre Nickatina, Zion I, Locksmith, and A-Plus of the Hieroglyphics, and his previous releases include "Save Yourself" featuring Blu (Soundcloud) and visuals for "I'll Be Living" ft. Demrick (Youtube) and "Breathe" (Youtube). Lately says "Run" is about "getting out of your own head and just going after what it is you know you truly want. Me and Space Cadet made this beat together the first weekend that we started working on the album. It was one of like 10 beats that we made that weekend, and I started writing to like 3 or 4 of them. Later that week I just ended up combining all the songs on this beat because I realized I was talking about the same thing in all of them. It was just really like exactly where I was at the time, and I had to get it off before I could move on. After that the whole album just kind of just flowed together from there."

Baltimore-born, Atlanta-based artist and Awful Records affiliate Micah Freeman presents the Los Changos Dorados-produced music video for "Walk The Line", the new single from Micah's forthcoming EP I Wasn't Born Yesterday. "Walk The Line" is produced by REO, the Grammy-award-winning beatsmith behind tracks like "I Am Sasha Fierce" for Beyoncé and Lil Wayne's "Mirror" as well as cuts for Chris Brown and Bruno Mars. Freeman's 2015 EP The Red featured Father on the title track (stream the music video via Complex). Matt Martians of The Internet says Freeman is "where R&B should be right now. It's forward thinking with a soul.” Freeman says his new track is about "multiplicity, intersectionality, and identity itself, about navigating in-between worlds, like the stag in the video. I, like many others, have always been multi-dimensional, and that’s okay. Instead of boxing yourself in or clinging to some illusion of who you are, you can take the roles you play less seriously, whether you’re the killer or the healer.” I Wasn’t Born Yesterday will drop this fall on Freeman's own Everpresent imprint.
