Bay Area, California emcee J.Lately presents the Erica Eng-directed music video for "Run", the new single from Tuesday, his forthcoming album produced entirely by Space Cadet. The new album will also feature appearances from The Grouch (stream "Clean"), Blimes and Khyenci. Space Cadet is also the beatsmith behind half of Lately's 2017 album Be F*cking Happy (watch the "Papayas & Blunt Smoke" music video). Last year J.Lately released the "Fun's Up" single (Soundcloud), "Free" (Soundcloud) and "By My Lonely" (listen) featuring fellow Bay Area emcee Locksmith. Hailing from Sebastopol, and having split time between Oakland and Southern California, Lately has toured with Andre Nickatina, Zion I, Locksmith, and A-Plus of the Hieroglyphics, and his previous releases include "Save Yourself" featuring Blu (Soundcloud) and visuals for "I'll Be Living" ft. Demrick (Youtube) and "Breathe" (Youtube). Lately says "Run" is about "getting out of your own head and just going after what it is you know you truly want. Me and Space Cadet made this beat together the first weekend that we started working on the album. It was one of like 10 beats that we made that weekend, and I started writing to like 3 or 4 of them. Later that week I just ended up combining all the songs on this beat because I realized I was talking about the same thing in all of them. It was just really like exactly where I was at the time, and I had to get it off before I could move on. After that the whole album just kind of just flowed together from there."
