FINDING CIERRE (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)

Lately our boy C.U.L.T.U.R.E. has been on a mission. He recently has been forced to distance himself from some unhealthy situations, but has decided to stick with his true game plan and follow the direct guidance from his father. We had an opportunity to converse and learn more about his current situation and peek the new video for, “Finding Cierre” (Watch Below).

THE PROJECT (THE 22ND DAY) WILL BE RELEASING 10.22.2018!!!!!!!! follow @RareFlavr and peek the interview response on video below!! ALSO IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET TO KNOW C.U.L.T.U.R.E. FIRST PEEK OUR ARTIST SNAPSHOT FEATURE

“First off great video. This is awesome- Think the vibe of the song matches the video. The visuals are fantastic- The moment of Truth Phone Call, The Church, and the Desert, Mountain visuals/concepts really caught our eye the most. We think this video shows not only progression, but exploration, as you are from Maryland- this shows your exploration in the music. - Where was this video shot at? How did you come up with the concept- for Finding Cierre- What led you there? “ - RareFlavr

C.U.L.T.U.R.E.- - “Awesome I am glad you enjoyed it a lot of thought and work went into it. The funny thing is the execution didn’t take long about 3 days to film, a month to get the travel arrangements, and 2 weeks to edit. This time around God blessed me to pull this one off 100. Honestly I don’t know where to begin LoL!!! So for about three years now I have been playing around with trap, new boom bap, and soul trap instrumentals, but didn’t feel confident or comfortable on those recordings. But a quick flashback to 21 days To Glory, (see artist snapshot) the song Learning Day Pt. 2 showcased a different sound from the traditional boom bap music I had been doing. This particular song had been in the making for over a year now. Honestly it started last fall when I had to sever ties and distance myself form some unhealthy situations and relationships. All this was brewing while I was trying to complete and promote 21 Days To Glory, at the same time trying to focus on a new project. Yeah busy right hahaha. But at 34 years old, I been in that place before, I wanted escape I wanted revenge I wanted freedom. Although not a thug it’s a certain way cats from Bmore (Baltimore) handles things. I also knew from the same Bmore streets there are consequences for every action. So I knew violence was not the answer, again violence is what Bmore does, not glorifying it but that’s our first instinct and that ain’t a black white or Latin thing. So approaching the situation I wanted to elevate, I wanted to make my family, supporters, and new fans that as a man of God you gotta handle this with the gift and talents you have. My pops told me via a phone conversation around the time all this was playing out in my life, was “boy you need a break thru, you need to go get it, he continued and said (inhale) I watched you search for a job a career that identifies with you for over 10 years, continuing he told me your dream job, your dream career is inside of you. You can’t be the average working man. You have to work for what you want, but this art this hip-hop is a part of you”. This was coming from a 78 year old man. But after that phone conversation about a day or so I was job searching and trying to promote the then new visual “A Soldier’s Story” when I stumbled across a new to me producer with a very unique sound. This was about October 2017, I found an instrumental I liked laid the track and decided to make that song a future release. Fast forward about 7 months later I reached out to the producer with cash in hand looking to purchase that instrumental so I could use it the professional level. I think I DM’d him like four times on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, no answer so I then decided to email him like two more times. No response, I was blown but not disappointed, truthfully it’s music and art so in this career most times you just gotta keep it moving. So I kept working on my next full length project the one that’s coming after The 22nd Day. In the midst of mixing I decided to get some inspiration and listen to some new music and instrumentals. I came across Thai Beats I knew who they were for a long time but never gave them a serious listen. After vibing to their work I came across the track that is now , “Finding Cierre” . I laid it down and didn’t let anyone hear it but myself. Around June of this year 2018 I was working with bv1103 (Beyond Voices) on visuals for the video for another track when we took a break from filming. Big Jon from bv1103 (Beyond Voices) was like play me something else from the upcoming project. Not sure of the mix but confident in the overall production i decided to lay it on them with “Finding Cierre”. It was dope, I never got that reaction before when I played my music for people. Everyone stopped and just took in what they was hearing, then the questions started is that you, is that you on the hook who produced it what are your plans so it started from there. Onto the visual about early July Big Jon reached out to me and stated he wanted bv1103 (Beyond Voices) to work exclusively with me on the visuals for “The 22nd Day” I said cool. Naw not really it was more like a nerd or geek in high school getting a new computer a high pitched voice displaying a weird smile hahaha!!! But I broke the songs meaning and title down and his next question was like give me a theme and scenery. I said its gotta be in the desert. Sunset, sunrise and at night to capture the neon lights and glow of the west coast. So after a few days of searching destinations from Texas to Nevada to New Mexico, to the final filming sight of Tucson Arizona because of the unique desert terrain there. I must say one day I will make it back to the great Pueblo to call it home. I never fell in love with a place as much as I did. I always loved the west coast main reason I moved to Cali but Arizona really grabbed me. Second the love respect and admiration for the Hispanic and Latino community really shaped the title the vibe and overall concept, even filming at the locations we did. Mainly “Finding Cierre” is a song about forgiveness closure and moving on from heartbreak let down and anger. It starts with contemplating as you see me thru a pit. That’s when I’m in my low place in the desert. A place where things go to die, a place of desperation neglect and death. The desert where things are not expected to make it, in the wilderness. A place where only God can help you get out. But for those who are meant to achieve something of significance it is a place of solitude healing growth and prosperity. Not even one can go thru a dry place in life and come out stronger than they were before they entered into the wilderness. And everyone must have a wilderness experience to go to the next level. Everyone must face their moment of truth. And no matter what the entertainer, artist, rich or poor young or old spiritual or atheist must learn this; you cannot and will not grow prosper until you find cierre, until they find closure. Blessings and thank y’all for allowing me to share this very critical piece of art. Love Y’all talk soon peace”. - C.U.L.T.U.R.E.

Dirt on My Hands, an album by Switch on Spotify

How did you come up with the title of the album, “Dirt on My Hands” is there any significance or meaning behind the title?

“This album is about a lot of different things, Mental Health, Relationships, Addiction, Love, Music Etc. But the overall theme is guilt, referencing the expression, ‘don’t point fingers with dirty hands’. Throughout the album I question consciousness and whether or not human beings make rational decisions of if determinism is the truth and reality is pre-scripted. The artwork of the album is meant to represent the role brain development/chemistry has on our actions as human beings. It is me drawn as a sensory homunculus which is a creature that represents a map of brain areas dedicated to sensory processing for different anatomical divisions of the body.”

“A Big Part of balancing my mental health revolves around managing my guilt and knowing the difference between explaining and blaming, throughout the album I mention this a lot with lyrics like ‘Something I need to change about myself is how often I complain, it is often I’m explaining and it just comes out the wrong way’ and ‘I’m Just trying to learn about myself but I can’t tell if I’m talking down or encouraging myself’ as well as the whole real concept behind the title track “dirt on my hands”.

“Do you think there is a chance reality has been pre-scripted? What is your take on the simulation theory?”

“Simulation theory is possible but I do not know much about it I think there is definitely a chance reality itself is prescribed yes I think it’s quite possible but we also may have free will we can never know for sure. It’s really hard to evenly distribute blame”

“Do you think humans should be easier on themselves with guilt or do you think there is a purpose for guilt? “

“There is a purpose for guilt for sure, it steers your moral compass for you, you know somethings wrong if it makes you feel guilty so yes we need it but I think too often we (human beings) feel guilty for things far beyond our control, I know I do.”

“Where do you feel like you were at before making the album to where you are now mentally? Do you feel any different or learn anything after making the album? “

“I learned a lot man I learned about myself but I do every time I make an album, I learned a lot about the people around me when I made this album, like my engineer Teus and my girl Tara and shit. About other people and Myself like I learned a lot about how everyone’s contribution is essential for the product I needed ya know? Like every producer I worked with especially my engineer man he was working hard man just learned a lot about making music. Music a lot more about the progress.”

“How long did this album take to make approximately (start to finish)?”

“Man I’d say including all the writing. I mean dog some of that writing is almost 2-3 years old but most of it is within the last 6-8 months, it took about id say 10 months with all the mixing, mastering, design etc.”

“That’s Wassup… It looks like you reunited with Morgan Murray in a few tracks that’s tight- was your bday recent? (not excited video) Turn 25? Happy Bday

“Na G b days in a few months G was just the concept lol confused lots of people tho. And yeah man we’re connected for a bit tight before he went in while he was in when he got out of treatment but we haven’t spoken in months now, we have a very complex relationship I wish em all the best. He will always be like a brother to me but sometimes people need space.”

“Excellent are you still sober? How as the journey of recovery been with addiction. Would you say you have new addictions to music etc.”

“ I smoke weed on the daily other than that I am sober. I don’t drink I don’t do anything else and don’t like to be around it if I can help it. I would say new behaviors for sure defiantly new addictions, certain behaviors fade other ones pop up it’s all about compulsion for me and managing my mind. But defs like take on thing outta the mix find yourself going to another for sure 100%. Music I don’t consider an addiction. I haven’t written a song in a few days or recorded any music for like two weeks I do music related things everyday like I go over my songs and do promotional shit but I don’t know I can control it haha with addictions there is no control, music is just my life man even when I did drugs everyday I did music everyday too in some shape or form even it was just rapping to the people I was around”

“What do you think is the best track on the album which track was the toughest to record?”

“My Favorite track just sonically is, ‘Eighth’, the hardest track to record like literally was, ‘No Feelings’ cuz there were insane amount of melodies, toughest song emotionally recording was separate but recorded it like 8 months ago now.

“Hell yeah who has been inspiring you lately any people you follow who have helped mold your work ethic? What has been motivating you lately?”

“All the hip hop I listen to motivates me especially that new young boy nba tape and future’s new tape like gave me some ideas sonically but even if I take an idea on how to record something like I flip it into my own way ya know? My work progress is molded by indignation?

“Awesome do you often feel misunderstood or do you think most people lack awareness?”

“When it comes to addiction yes in general people lack awareness but that’s because of our laws. Our laws make it seem like simply a ‘poor choice’ to engage in substance use and therefore a lot of our citizens uphold that same belief, they have to for the society to function. I do not hold this belief, they have to for the society to function. I do not hold this belief, I think it is impossible to manage another’s state of consciousness and ridiculous for any government to attempt to do so, government intervention in matters concerning the mental illness that is drug addiction should only involve harm reduction, people should not be punished for using drugs. So yeah people would rather think it is someone’s choice or someone’s decision to be addicted, as if any rational being would ever consciously decide to give up his or her autonomy I mean it’s insane, but it’s our world.”

“That’s awesome do you plan on dropping more music videos for the album or are you already on to new projects?”

“ Two more off this album then onto the next”

“That’s wassup we noticed Luke Connor does most of your visuals on videos does he typically take over the creative process or do you usually bounce ideas off of each other?”

“Yeah man that’s the homie! And yeah I mean he’s the talent, But we definitely bounce ideas and concepts off each other. We talk on the phone a lot before shooting kinda planning it out we’ve even done that in person before on the day of the shoot like sat down and mapped it out but the guys an animal man lighting angles movement editing etc super talented dude.”

“Awesome did you also throw in on the The Design of the cover art of the album, who did that and how did that come about? “

“Yeah man the design was done by my G Luc Bury hes @burymedead on instagram. Yeah Man I came to him with the concept we went back and forth quite a few times easy dude to work with eventually we got it to a stage I considered perfect, I am really happy with the artwork for this project”

Boom (Real Ni--as Don't Die) [feat. Front Page] (album version) by F.Y.I., released 05 October 2018 "Boom (Ream Ni--as Don't Die)" lyrics from "Herecember 20NOW" written by L. Marshall (Heat Lamp Music - ASCAP) and K.

Los Angeles-based emcee F.Y.I. presents "Boom", the new single from his forthcoming album Herecember 20NOW. "Boom" is produced by !LLMind, the beatsmith behind JAY-Z & Beyoncé's "Heard About Us", Drake's "You & The 6"Kendrick Lamar's "God" and J. Cole's "Love Yourz" among others. F.Y.I.'s last album ameriBLACKKK ( iTunes) spawned visuals for "These The Times (Don't Judge)" (Youtube), while his previous album F.Y.I. Invented Green generated videos for singles "Legend of G.O.A.T." (watch) and "Trust Me" (watch). F.Y.I. first gained notoriety in 2010 as part of trio Those Chosen and their collaborations with Grammy-Award winning producer, IZ Avila, earning them a slot on URB's 25 Artists To Watch. In 2012 F.Y.I. collaborated with Ab-Soul on "Dopamine" (Bandcamp). In 2014 he dropped his first solo mixtape Yo! The Places You'll Go which hit #1 on CMJ's Hip Hop Charts (Bandcamp). He dropped an exclusive freestyle for HipHopDX (Youtube) and has also appeared in the European reality show Holland in Da Hood (Youtube). "I met !LLMind after a pre-Grammy party around L.A. and I knew I'd like to murder one of his beats one day," he says about the new single. "Then that day came and now the world can vibe to 'Boom'. I made sure to sprinkle some extras on it with the Connecticut homie Front Page coming through putting that Caribbean seasoning on it and then I wanted to be extra sharp with the flows. The inspiration behind the record was letting everyone know that authentic hip-hop does not die. It's what the people want and what fans of what I do expect from me. Top 5 rap s--t every time I step to the mic."

Out Here (Light Years) (feat. Anderson .Paak, L.G. & Chels), a song by Ze11a, Anderson .Paak, L.G., Chels on Spotify

New Orleans producer/rapper Ze11a presents "Out Here", his self-produced new single featuring Anderson.Paak as well as fellow New Orleans rappers LG and Chels. "Out Here' appears on 4What4U, Ze11a's new album out now via Empire Distribution also featuring Mannie Fresh, Dee-1, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Pell, and Dani Kartel, the producer behind Juvenile's "Slo Motion" hit. Ze11a is co-founder of Flight School, a production team that recently released the First Classalbum featuring YMCMB Flow, Chedda and KillaKyleon (iTunes), and runs his label The Happy Group alongside manager and partner Ben Simmons. He studied percussion and played with West African drum ensembles for years, including a performance at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. “My goal is to put New Orleans sound back on the map and highlight some of its best talent in the process," Ze11a says. "I grew up drumming and listening to New Orleans music as well as world music and so once I began producing, my music is influenced by these sounds. Now I feel like it's my job to take this music to the world. This is how I spread love." Ze11a says 4What4U came together "like magic. It had its challenges, but i'm grateful to have been able to get all of this talent on my first solo project. And it was totally worth it. Anderson's name came up while we were working on 'Out Here' in its early stages. At the time, only his Venice album was out, and me and my manager just knew that 'Drugs' was going to be a hit. This was at least a year and a half before Straight Outta Compton came out. Regardless, we already knew from Venice that we wanted his talent for the album. Also being able to put L.G. and Chels - two dope artists from my city - on a track with him just felt like the right move."
