We recently found Joe Aste’s album on social media through an advertisement, we found the cover art was very cool, and decided to check out the album. It has a mellow vibe, mixed in with great features from rappers. It is a sound album, perfect for the work-day getting sh*t done or catching a vibe. It has a travis scott feel to it mixed in with new age relaxation music hip-hop rap music.

California producer Sir Veterano presents The Gathering, his new album featuring MC Eiht, Planet Asia and Mitchy Slick on lead single "Reputable" (watch the music video) as well as appearances from Murs, Bishop Lamont, Casual, Ras Kass, Guilty Simpson, Phat Kat, Fashawn, K-Bizz, 4TWO7, M.E.D., Skillz and Supastition. Growing up outside of San Francisco, Veterano worked with Ras Kass, Kool G Rap, Mad Skillz, Planet Asia and Slaughtahouse through the mid-2000s and early 2010s, releasing the Latest and Greatest Vol.1 mixtape, a doo-wop themed instrumental album in partnership with Dart Adam's Producers I Know brand, and a DJ series of West Coast funk with 2DopeBoyz.com, before putting his career on hold in order to focus on his personal life. In late 2018, Sir Veterano expressed interest in rejoining the music business to his music manager, Walt Liquor - aka 4Two7 - and Kwa Nguyen, owner of Fresh Yard Clothing and Fresh Yard Records. The "Reputable" music video was directed by Yellow Nguyen, the man behind videos for Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul. "I feel like I've been buried in a coffin for the last decade and just woke up," Veterano says regarding his new project. "Dug myself out of my music grave and started walking around. The Gathering is a summoning of old colleagues and Hip-Hop legends to come together and do the lyrical maiming they're known for." The Gathering is out now on Fresh Yard Records.

Fantastic right off the bat. Smoke Dza is a huge feature. Smoke Dza’s name supposedly came from the movie Friday. After listening to the album we thought it was pretty strong. Really enjoyed the first Track One Step Forward. It has a bounce to it that if Switch was performing it Live it would sound super raw. It is pretty catchy. Catchy music is always enjoyable. Hold of my soul—- Lyrical abilities noticed right away. These types of tracks have a time and a place. Glad it is on the album. Run with Scissors is a great song, because it has a deeper meaning to it. The Factor of the song- Questioning Reality — is this all predetermined or do our precautions help us. Does this even matter if we run with scissors? Enjoyable track. interesting topic-Is this predetermined destiny. We really don’t know you can only have fun- Is this the right thing? Is this self-destructive? at some point realize what is working and what is not- Looking at the big picture of where it’s all going. People all over the world are curious about this topic. Being safe and precautious is that a good thing? or setting us up for a life of comfort zones. Interesting track. The pale horse, starts off with very cool verse by 730 Edot. Sounds flawless, he murks it. Sounds very East Coast. Not too big on the shellshock language, but besides that song is Raw and verses are delivered flawless. Drop it maybe would have put at track 2, to go along with One step forward. Sort of has the same bounce as One step Forward. The last song the Highest Bidder is a smoking song with Cypress Hill vibes. Very cool track. Pretty awesome Smoke DZA laid it down. Hats off to Switch for earning this feature!!!!!!! Really like the flow and the name of the song. word selection, visualization, and imagery all on the track. Switch knocked this out the park. Overall the ALBUM is strong. #rarefavorites are One Step Forward, Run with Scissors, and the Highest Bidder.

This project has a steady consistency and features:

Overall very hard-hitting project. The stream of sounds/vibes thru this project has a well-delivered flow sharing not only bars, but storytelling and professionally-produced songs to bump in the car headphones or party. Metaphors and one-lines some #rarefavorites “Ya Bark bigger than your Bites” (lights on me), “We can roll up and face Devils” (take it slow).

The second track ft. Holy Bandz adds some flavr to the project as Holy Bandz stepped up to the plate snappin with a well-delivered chorus, verse, and adlibs by Denzo and Bandz.

Our personal favorite is Track 3 “Rain on Me” the Beat is Outrageous and Hits at the perfect timing. The song is very well produced and Denzo goes the hardest here. “Can’t Wait for the Wraith then i’m really (Ghost/gone)". We like the story of the come up and going through the problems it takes to become a successful artist. This track pushes Denzo to the Next Level on all around music making and is the realest track lyrically snapping through the entire song.

This leads into the next song to let it settle in with “Take It Slow” which Denzo features his next Music Video for (below).
