AROLY TARIQ, "PERSPECTIVE"

Award-winning New Zealand songwriter/singer/producer Aroly Tariq presents her self-directed and animated filmclip for her latest single "Perspective". The Melbourne-based artist is one half of the duo Audego, and has collaborated with acts such as Funkstörung, Coy Haste (Caribou), Pasobionic ,and Joelistics, garnering her support from the likes of Pigeons and Planes, The Fader, BBC Radio 1 and Triple J. A mellow alt-pop/electronic track that utilizes RnB melodies with gentle trap-inspired beats, "Perspective" is the Melbourne-based artist's third single as a solo artist and producer, which weaves her music with traditional and AI art and abstract animation, the early genesis of which can be seen on her 2016 video for "Side Effects" (watch on Youtube). Aroly has performed at festivals such as CMW, St Kilda Fest, Melbourne Music Week and Peats Ridge. Tariq says the meaning behind her new track is "based on the point-of-view shift of, ‘don't be sad it's gone, be grateful it happened,’ and I wanted the sonic movements to represent that. I produced and visually created everything, which is a beautiful way to execute a concept, because there's no artistic compromise, as opposed to working collaboratively with others. I'm loving how much I learn about production with every song I make. For example, I never thought I would use a horn sample, but this song really would be empty without it, and it's also a reminder that songs tend to write themselves and find their own way as they grow." "Perspective" is out now on Equity Distribution.

DMV-based rapper/producer Santa Sallet presents the self-directed music video for "Just Another Tuesday", produced by Nemizzo, longtime collaborator and co-founder of Mugisha Sallet Productions (MSP). Sallet recently released visuals for "Championship Ring" (watch on Youtube) and "Chinese Funk" (watch on Youtube) in preparation for the release of Plutography, Sallet's forthcoming album which blends salsa beats, southern trap, and eastern jazz with classic and conventional rap samples, reflecting Sallet's international upbringing across South Africa, Dominica and the US. Sallet is planning a series of full-length releases, among them C.R.E.A.M. which recounts his journey from broke to financially free, and Women and R.A.P. which describe his pursuit of success in relationships and the music industry respectively. Santa says "Just Another Tuesday" is about "a white car. I'll never forget, I was driving home from work one day when Nemizzo called me to play me some beats. We freestyling through back-to-back beats when he played this beat called '$crapes'. I start freestyling and something ‘bout how I'm driving and how 'I whip that white (white, white, white, white)'. I was vibing with it so hard that as soon as I got home, I put pen to paper before my genius could escape me. It was Just Another Tuesday for MSP." "Just Another Tuesday" is out now on MSP Records.
