MC/singer/songwriter Pete Santos presents the RP Films Media-directed music video for "Last Night People", his new B.Cimili-produced single featuring Miara. A New York City native currently residing in Finland, Pete grew up all over the world, a life journey which heavily influenced his blend of hip-hop, pop, R&B, afro-rhythms, and soul music. The clip for "Last Night People" follows on the heels of visuals for his last single "We Emotional" (Youtube). Pete says his new single is about "the next day of a newly-married couple who wed the night before in Las Vegas. The newlywed couple tells their story about their love for each other and the beauty of that love."

Substance Abuse feat. Eric Steuer "Rabbit Hole"

RABBIT HOLE

Los Angeles hip-hop duo Substance Abuse returns with a new single, Rabbit Hole, in which Subz and Eso Tre drop verses that break down the surreality of the modern world. Built on a foundation of cinematic '70s soul, the track was produced by longtime collaborator Waes One and features guest emcee Eric Steuer. Former URB Next 100 picks, Substance Abuse's 2006 album Overproof (Bandcamp) featured MF DOOM, Saafir, P.E.A.C.E., Kool Keith, Motion Man, Kutmasta Kurt and Rasco, while 2012's Background Music (Spotify) featured Myka Nyne, Tash of Tha Alkaholiks, KRS-One, MC Eiht and Percee P. Substance Abuse followed with Background Music: The Redux in 2016 and Bridges featuring Aceyalone of Freestyle Fellowship in 2018. "Rabbit Hole is a song for the times we're in," Eso says. "It's about having fortitude and perseverance when there are devilish functions trying to pull you down. Whether it's a counterproductive ideology or a corrupt government or just your own self doubt, it's about not being swayed by the favorable and unfavorable circumstances that we all find ourselves in, and not being influenced by immediate, short-term considerations of gain or loss. We're honored to have our good friend Eric to rap on this track because he's one of the dopest and most cerebral emcees out there, and he's been with us since ground zero when we dropped our first underground tape many moons ago. Times have changed since then, but our approach to making exciting, thought provoking music hasn't."

DMV representative Brotha Meech presents the DMVLife-directed music video for "Sean Price Back", his PT Tha ET-produced dedication to the late Brownsville emcee, who passed in 2015. Meech was Marketing Director for Sony Music in Atlanta before migrating north, releasing #unplug in 2014 and Meech 2020 in 2016 (Spotify). In 2019 Meech hit WorldStar with his Flashcard Freestyle series (WorldStar). “Boom Bap is making a comeback and I’m here to champion its return," Meech says about his new single. “Pop artists get tributes, rock artists get tribute, hell even R&B singers get tributes. I'll be damned if us rappers just die and keep dying with no one left behind to shine some appreciation on our legacies. Big up to Joyner Lucas droppin’ Will. I’m doing a tribute to Sean P!”
