Baltimore-born, Atlanta-based artist and Awful Records affiliate Micah Freeman presents the Los Changos Dorados-produced music video for "Walk The Line", the new single from Micah's forthcoming EP I Wasn't Born Yesterday. "Walk The Line" is produced by REO, the Grammy-award-winning beatsmith behind tracks like "I Am Sasha Fierce" for Beyoncé and Lil Wayne's "Mirror" as well as cuts for Chris Brown and Bruno Mars. Freeman's 2015 EP The Red featured Father on the title track (stream the music video via Complex). Matt Martians of The Internet says Freeman is "where R&B should be right now. It's forward thinking with a soul.” Freeman says his new track is about "multiplicity, intersectionality, and identity itself, about navigating in-between worlds, like the stag in the video. I, like many others, have always been multi-dimensional, and that’s okay. Instead of boxing yourself in or clinging to some illusion of who you are, you can take the roles you play less seriously, whether you’re the killer or the healer.” I Wasn’t Born Yesterday will drop this fall on Freeman's own Everpresent imprint.

Produced by Victorious Sounds, "Killa Soundboy" is the lead single off The Dark Knight Album 2: The Fight For Gotham, Bruse's new album which also features "Keepers Of The Flame" (stream), his collaboration track with fellow South Bronx emcee Chris Rivers, their first collaboration since 2015's Venom which also featured the final verse ever from the late Sean Price (watch the "music video). A native of the Bronxdale Houses Projects in the Soundview section of the Bronx, Bruse recently premiered his Killa Soundboy" single featuring Papoose on HipHopDX (stream), which he followed up with "The Batman Cometh" (stream), both in preparation for the release of his new album The Dark Knight Album 2: The Fight For Gotham. Bruse and Chris' previous collaboration "Venom" was featured on Bruse's sophomore album Earl Manigault Of Rap (Spotify), while Keith Murray appeared on Bruse's debut project The Dark Knight Album: The Day The Earth Stood Still (listen to “Return Of The Spitters (RMX)”). Bruse released his mixtape The Batman Should Have Been On It in 2017 (Datpiff), and two Bruse tracks appeared on the Universal Hip Hop Museum's "16 Bars 4 Hip Hop" project. "I grew up on this beat, which is one of reggae's most famous and dopest beats, the Stalag Riddim," Bruse says about the new track. I've jumped on it before, but this time I really wanted to kill it. Once I got the song formatted I reached out to Papoose and we made it happen." Bruse's Dark Knight 2 album release party will be July 18 at The Foot Light, 465 Seneca Avenue, Ridgewood, Queens, NY, and Bruse's "Soundboy Killa" Tour kicks off July 26th In New Mexico (tour info).

North Miami rapper Prez P presents the Unkle Luc-directed music video for "Butterflies", his new single produced by Lunch Money Lewis and featuring Florida vocalist Wycked. The track appears on Prez's new album Prezi (SmartURL), another chapter in a prolific discography that spans several solo releases as well as a couple with his crew Da Camp. Prez's "Play that Funk" single was featured in the 2016 Oscar-award winning film "Moonlight" (Youtube). That same year Prez was cosigned by Rick Ross (article) and appeared on Sway In The Morning (Youtube). "Me and Wycked came together on about the nervousness that comes with new love/relationships," Prez says about his new single. "It's about trusting your feelings instead of fearing the outcome of potential heartbreak. Letting go and just falling in love because it's a beautiful thing. We shot the video at Butterfly World in Cypress Creek, Florida with Unkle Luc behind the camera and hundreds of butterflies surrounding us."
